Explore Lesotho

Lesotho is a country that provides spectacular mountain scenery as a backdrop to some of the most exciting holiday activities in Southern Africa.  A magnificent opportunity to explore nature still little changed by man, still un-spoilt and to appreciate the untamed but beautiful landscapes of the Maluti and Drakensberg mountains.  The warm welcome of the Basotho people, makes Lesotho a must do holiday destination.

The Kingdom of Lesotho is high in the mountains of Southern Africa,  unique in that it is an independent nation completely surrounded by South Africa and the country with the highest lowest point above see level.  This make Lesotho the country with the highest average high above see level.

Lesotho is easy to explore. Roads wind up into the mountains through breathtakingly gorgeous scenery. Although 4×4 routes are an exciting way to explore the more out-of-the-way sites, most people go for the ideal way of exploring Lesotho. That is on the back of Basotho pony, Lesotho’s traditional transport. Sleeping over in villages give you the ideal opportunity to interact with the Basotho people and learn more about their culture.
